南风过处荔枝红



Flowers And Fruits

I always feel the lotus root has many hearts and eyes
I more like the beautiful face of winter sweet

Where the southerly passes, litchi fruits are red
While the drizzle sprinkles, the bamboo leaves are emerald green

On the splendid screen I inscribed rhymes in the late spring
In the chrysanthemum tent I recited poems in September

On the places peaches and plums ripen and fruit
When plum blossoms and orchid flowers in fragrant bloom

拈花惹草說風騷
春愁常引詩愁起
文氣又將俗氣消


As One Falls, Another Rises

Cultivating bamboos and plums is called elegant hobby
Lusting after flowers and grasses is called coquetry
The spring sorrows often cause of the poetic sorrows growing
Literary style again got rid of vulgarity

孤燈伴月，客聞村釀容顏醉
少女倚欄，霜打花心秋貌愁
西嶺植松，北水澄清思緲緲
東籬種菊，南山翠綠意悠悠


East, West, South And North

A lone lamp accompanied moon
a passenger smelled the village wine
his looks got drunk
A girl was leaning against hurdle
frost beat flower stamens
the autumn appearance was in grief

In the West Ridge planted pines
the North Water was clear
my thoughts were indistinct
By the East Fence planted chrysanthemums
In the South Mountain emerald green
My mood was leisurely
